The Berlin Coat from Soeur is a wonderful reminder of why great wool coats have become such stalwarts in our wardrobes. For us good outerwear embodies a certain feeling: often you just know it when you see it. There's a certain element of practicality involved (*snooze*) but it's primarily about how it makes us feel and the mood it captures. Usually, this is encapsulated by remarkable design, craftsmanship and when it comes to our clothes, the texture of the fabric.
Made from a black and green chevron wool, this long coat looks and feels beautiful on. The wool feels substantial but not itchy and the straight cut creates a fabulous architectural drape that moves with you. Traditionally used in men's fashion, the subtle chevron pattern is equal parts industrustrial and tailored. Smart details like the opening at the collar with a concealed button placket and deep welt pockets add a functionality that will come in handy on brisk days.
